The Greater Township of Ocean Democratic Club will present Dr. Laura Neitzel, a professor at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, at 7:30 p.m. July 16 at West Park Recreation Complex, 615 W. Park Ave., Oakhurst section of Ocean Township. She will discuss the political and cultural aspects of China and will comment on her and her students' recent trip to Japan. A question-andanswer session will follow the presentation, which is free and open to the public. A short business meeting of the club will precede the program. Desserts and beverages will be served. The Boardwalk Relay Against Hunger to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties will take place Sept. 26 on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Check-in is 7:30 a.m., followed by the run 8:30 a.m. Teams of one- to three-individuals will run in three legs of 5 kilometers for a total distance of 15 kilometers. The Seniors of Little Silver will not have regular meetings in July or August; rather, they will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at Zoe's, a restaurant by the Markham Place parking lot. No reservations are needed. The September meeting will be a formal luncheon, with the date and place to be announced. The seniors welcome all Monmouth County residents age 55 or older. The Monmouth Civic Chorus invites singers to a Summer Sing of selections from "Mass in B Minor" by Johann Sebastian Bach at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 White St., Red Bank. Admission is $5 and includes refreshments and the loan of a score. The sing is an opportunity to get to know the chorus and artistic director Dr. Mark Shapiro. The Middletown Ramblers will hold a barn square dance 7:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays at the Croydon Hall Senior Center, 900 Leonardville Road, Leonardo section of Middletown. Couples and singles welcome, and children must be accompanied by a parent. Donation is $3 for adults, and free for children younger than age 18. Refreshments will be provided. Frank Talk Art Bistro and Bookstore, 163 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank, will launch the first of its reading series 2 p.m. July 12, featuring the readings of Frank Messina and Adele Kenny. Fisk Chapel A.M.E. Church, Maple Avenue, Fair Haven, will host a community flea market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 25 (setup starts at 7 a.m.). Spaces are available at $15 for new-item vendor tables, and $10 for used-item tables. A table is included in the price. The Shrewsbury Chorale invites singers of all voice parts to its informal annual summer sing 7:30-10 p.m. Aug. 11 at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, 1475 W.
