Audubon Society meeting, walk slated in Dec.

The Monmouth County Audubon Society will meet 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church, White Street, Red Bank.

Naturalists and writers Clay and Pat Sutton will present "Birds and Birding at Cape May," based on the Sutton's book. The couple will share the rich history of Cape May birding, from the early days through the discoveries of today. The public is welcome to attend the free meeting and program.

The society will host a bird walk at Sandy Hook 10 a.m. Dec. 12 beginning at the visitor's center. The walk will be led by several society members, and open to both members and nonmembers. Attendees may see snow buntings, northern harriers, warblers or other birds. Several species of ducks also winter in the area. Registration is not required for the free walk. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars and field guides.
