      Ricardo Benitez-Lemos of St. Anselm's Parish, Wayside section of Ocean Township, has been ordained to the transitional dioaconate by Bishop John M. Smith, Diocese of Trenton. Transitional deacons are men who have completed the third year of seminary formation, and ordained to serve as a minister of the Word, of the altar and of charity. They are expected to become a priest the following year, or soon thereafter. Benitez-Lemos will be vested by the Rev. Robert Kaeding, executive director of The Center, Asbury Park.

      The Ocean Grove Giant Spring Flea Market will be held for the 30th time, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 30 (rain or shine). More than 300 vendors will offer items such as antique furniture, quilts, lampshades and other items. Attendees should follow the signs to the Great Auditorium.

      The seventh annual Boardwalk Art Show will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 25 in Ocean Grove. The juried show sponsored by the Ocean Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will feature 74 artists and works in various media as well as sculpture, photographs and jewelry.       ***** The Eatontown Lions Club will host its 11th annual Phil Wellington Memorial golf outing 1 p.m. June 15 at the Sun Eagles Golf Course, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. Fee is $140 per golfer, and all fees must be paid by June 1. There will be awards, dinner and prizes.       The Eatontown Lions Club created a membership trifecta at its May 14 meeting when Jaime Stark was inducted, joining his father, Joel Stark, and brother, Toby Stark, as the third member of the Stark family to become a Lions Club member.
