      Pacific Encore Performances, Holmdel and New York City, announced that a premiere television special will be filmed for summer viewing on NJN Network and other PBS stations. Filming will take place Jan. 17-19 at Wilson Hall, Monmouth University, West Long Branch, and additional ballroom segments will be filmed later at private estates in the area. Pacific Encore is an international ensemble of 21 singers who perform Broadway, opera, operetta, cabaret, folk songs, spirituals, and other melodies.       The Gay Dads of Monmouth and Ocean counties will hold its next meeting noon-2 p.m. Jan. 18 at United Methodist Church, Red Bank. The group is a forum for gay dads and their children to meet, form friendships and lend support to each other. The group will also share resources of gay parent-friendly services and resources. The group is also open to any gay single or coupled men. Refreshments will be served, and there will be arts and crafts for children ages 2-12. Interested dads are asked to RSVP at www. meetup.com.

      "Our Unique Perspective," an art exhibit by the Township of Ocean Seniors, will be presented Jan. 18 through Feb. 27 at Terner House Gallery, Township of Ocean Library, 601 Deal Road, Ocean. A reception will be held 2-4 p.m. Jan. 18, and refreshments will be provided. The participants took part in a senior painting class sponsored by the township's Recreation Department. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 1-5 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

      The Wellness Community, Northern Jersey Shore- The Diney Goldsmith Center, 613 Hope Road, Eatontown, will offer a free educational program, "Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer," 12:30- 2:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Oncologist Dr. Susan Greenberg and oncology nurse Debbie Moriarty will be the guest speakers. Lunch will be served.

      "Frankly Speaking About New Discoveries in Cancer" will be presented 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Oncologist Dr. Ian Horkheimer, oncology nurse Kathy Gelchion and oncology social worker Candace Fielder will be the speakers, and dinner will be provided.       East Village Opera Company will perform 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Pollak Theatre, Monmouth University, West Long Branch. The company consists of a fivepiece rock band, string quartet and two vocalists. Monmouth and the St. Vincent de Paul Society will host a reception at 6 p.m. before the concert. Patrons donating a new unwrapped toy valued at $20 or more will be treated to the reception. Gifts benefit the Society's "Christmas in February" dinner for the poor and less fortunate of the Greater Long Branch area. Tickets are $40 and $32.       The 12th annual Sweetheart Ball to benefit the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Cancer Center, Neptune, will be held 7 p.m. to midnight Feb. 7 at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club, Farmingdale. Honorees and recipients of the William C. Black Award of Hope will be Marilyn and Philip Perricone for contributions to the cancer center, including the establishment of the Perricone Center for Gynecologic Oncology. The event will feature live and silent auctions, and music by the Jack Goodman Band. Tickets are $200 per person, and sponsorships and journal opportunities are available.
