David McAulay Mr. McAulay, 78, of Highlands, and formerly Rumson, died Oct. 31, 2008, following a battle with cancer. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine from 1951-88, and member of the Master Mates & Pilots Union. Following retirement, he was employed at Interport Pilots, Port Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Amelia in 2004; and a brother, Bruce. He is survived by a daughter, Kim I. of Long Branch; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gregg D. of Monmouth Beach, and Glenn R. and Laura of Freehold Township; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Mary of New York City, and Joseph and Leyla of La Crescenta, Calif.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Peg and Steve Byrd of Madison, and Irene McAulay Varga of North Brunswick; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and good friend, Gloria Fields.
