Coalition to discuss health care Oct. 2

The Monmouth Cancer Coalition will hold its quarterly meeting 8:30-10 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, 176 Riverside Ave., Red Bank.

Presenters will hold a panel discussion to discuss the issues concerning access to care and pending legislation aimed to reduce the number of uninsured in New Jersey. Panelists will be Sen. Robert W. Singer (30th District); Sen. Jennifer Beck (12th District); Eugene Cheslock, M.D., president, Parker Family Health Center, Red Bank; and Melinda Staiger, M.D., medical director, Jacqueline Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Moderator will be Frank P. Mascia III, executive vice president, America Cancer Society, Shrewsbury.
