YArts to hold open house tonight

The Community YMCA, Middletown, is expanding local YArts programming for children, teens, adults and seniors in the communities of Hazlet and Long Branch. An open house for the programs will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at SICA, 20 Third Ave., Long Branch. The event will feature demonstrations, program information and sample projects.

The programs are now housed in Red Bank at the Children's Cultural Center, 51 Monmouth St.. New programs have begun at the YMCA Children's Achievement Center, 745 Poole Ave., Hazlet, and at SICA. Classes and workshops in Long Branch include Family Art Night, YArts Kids Club, intro to fashion design, black and white photography, and other programs.

Programs in Hazlet include Creative Moms Club, Girls History Book Club, robotics, video game design, cartooning, digital photography and other programs.
