Local History Room reopens at library Sept. 8

Long Branch Free Public Library's local history room will reopen Sept. 8. The room will be open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays. The library is at 168 Lincoln Ave.

The room features a large collection of books on the history of Monmouth County and New Jersey, and newspaper clippings in the Robert Van Benthuysen Monmouth County and New Jersey collection from the 1960s-80s. The Elsalyn Palmisano Monmouth County and New Jersey collection were also recently added. Also featured is the North Jersey Shore Resort Era collection of images of Long Branch from the mid-1800s through the 1920s.
