Township teens arrested for stealing from pool club

OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Three area teenagers are facing theft charges for allegedly stealing money from the township pool complex where they worked.

Police arrested James E. Daniels III, 18, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, all of Ocean Township, on July 4 after a police investigation revealed that the trio was routinely pocketing money from daily sales transactions at the Ocean Township Community Pool and Tennis Facility on West Park Avenue, according to police reports.

Police charged Daniels with theft of over $200 and conspiracy to commit theft while he was employed at the pool from March 2008 to July 2008, according to reports.

Both the 16-year-old male and the 15- year-old female were also charged with theft of over $200 and conspiracy to commit theft while working at the pool, authorities said.

Following his arrest, Daniels was released by police on a criminal summons pending a court hearing. Both juveniles were released to the custody of their parents.
