NOTES The township of Ocean Environmental Commission will host a summer nature walk 10 a.m. July 13 at Joe Palaia Park. Attendees should meet by the white building in the park on Whale Pond Road, and bring cameras and binoculars if they desire. ***** The Greater Township of Ocean Democratic Club will hold its monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. July 15 at the West Park Recreation Complex, 615 W. Park Ave., Oakhurst section of Ocean Township. Guest speaker will be Paul Zigo, history professor at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He will discuss D-Day. Proceeds benefit Ladacin's educational, therapeutic, social, residential and support services for infants, children and adults with developmental and multiple physical disabilities. ***** The Long Branch Library has announced hours at its Elberon branch through Aug. 30. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, 1-7 p.m. Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Friends of the Long Branch Library will sponsor a wine-tasting fundraiser 4- 6 p.m. July 19 at Ron's West End Pub. Tickets are $25 each and include a tasting of wines from around the world and various hors d'oeuvres. The event will celebrate the society's 20th anniversary. A social hour at 1 p.m. will precede the talk. Hanley, in her role, will talk about her extraordinary life as wife, mother, farmer, accountant and diplomat. The free program is open to the public.
