In the Service Marine Corps Reserve Pvt. Jeffrey J. Picado completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is the son of Linda F. Barragan of Ocean, and Mauro H. Picado of Asbury Park. Army Staff Sgt. Christine M. Moriarty has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The staff sergeant is a civil affairs specialist normally assigned to the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion, Fort Dix, and has served in the military for more than 18 years. A 1987 graduate ofMonmouth Regional High School, Tinton Falls, she is the daughter of Laura F. Moriarty of Eatontown. Air ForceAirman 1st Class KevinA.
