Rutgers Roundup

The Rutgers football team will close out spring practice with the annual Scarlet- White game on Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at Rutgers Stadium. The game will again benefit the pediatric units of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter's University Hospital.

Over the last 14 years, over $70,000 has been raised at the Scarlet-White game to benefit the two hospitals.

A Fanfest will start at 12:30 p.m. in Rutgers Stadium Complex adjacent to the Indoor Practice Bubble. It is open to the public and will offer inflatable rides for kids and appearances by the RU pep band and cheer/dance teams. Food and beverages as well as Rutgers apparel will be available for purchase.

All fans will receive a free Rutgers Football T-shirt while supplies last. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the players during a one hour autograph session on the field following the game.

Following the Scarlet-White game and autograph session, the Fourth Annual Touchdown Club Sports and Celebrity Auction will take place adjacent to the East Side of Rutgers Stadium. There will be one-time chances to bid on unique memorabilia, autographed items, original artwork, and numerous golf outings. Doors are set to open at 5 p.m. with a silent auction to be followed by a live auction.

David Pollack of Georgia won the initial Lott Trophy in 2004. DeMeco Ryans of Alabama won the award in 2005 Daymeion Hughes of Cal was the recipient in 2006 and Glenn Dorsey of LSU in 2007. Georgia, Alabama, Cal and LSU each received $25,000 for their general scholarship funds. In four years, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation has donated more than $450,000 to various charities, including the four universities.

Voters for the award include selected members of the national media, previous finalists, the board of directors of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, The IMPACT Foundation Board of Advisers comprised of many retired NFLplayers and Master Coaches, a distinguished group of former head college coaches.

The winner will be announced at a gala black-tie banquet at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Ca., on Dec. 14.
