ALS to help restore dunes at hook April 20

The American Littoral Society (ALS), Highlands, will observe Earth Day 2008 by helping restore dunes at Sandy Hook April 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The public is welcome to take part.

Monmouth County schoolchildren worked with ALS, and planted dormant American beach grass culms in pots, which the students will replant on the dunes. The ALS has additional plants so that the general public can participate. Staff and members of the Red Bank Regional High School Environmental Club will be on hand to help volunteers. Attendees should meet at North Beach.
