Schools seek to identify students with special needs

The Ocean Township school district is seeking children ages 3 to 21 whomay have an educational disability due to physical, sensory, emotional, learning, communication, cognitive or social difficulties.

The children may be eligible for special education and related services or speech and language services, according to a press release from the Ocean Township school district.

The school district is responsible for locating and identifying all children who may have an educational disability and are in need of special education and are residents in the district, students attending nonpublic schools within the school district or students attending early childhood programs.

The West Long Branch school district is also seeking to identify children ages 3 to 14 who may be experiencing physical, sensory, communication, cognitive or social difficulties, including migrant and homeless students. For more information, call Lolita Yacona at (732) 222-5086, ext. 1256 or 1257.
