Suspects break into golf course, and crash carts

OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Police are searching for suspects in connection with a burglary and theft that occurred at the Hollywood Golf Course on Roseld Avenue last week.

On March 23 at approximately 8:19 a.m., police received a call from employees at the golf course reporting a burglary and theft of four golf carts, according to police reports.

An investigation into the incident revealed that unknown suspects entered the warehouse during the overnight hours and removed the golf carts, authorities said, adding that there were no signs of forced entry at the scene.

Two of the missing golf carts were discovered in a small water hole just outside of the 13th hole's fare way and the other two carts were located off the 12th green, authorities said.

The golf carts found off the 12th green appeared to been intentionally crashed into each other and left adjacent to a sand trap near the hole, authorities said.

Police are asking that anyone with information regarding the incident contact the Ocean Township Police Criminal Investigation Bureau at (732) 531-1800.
