MU to host 7th global convention Monmouth University's seventh annual "GlobalUnderstanding Convention, Beyond Borders: Individual Responsibility, Collective Action" will take place April 7-10. The convention will provide numerous opportunities for the community to enhance their knowledge about the global challenges in today's world. Events will include: speakers, panels, films, classroom colloquia, poster sessions and workshops for students and teachers from neighboring schools, community residents and visitors. TheGlobalUnderstandingConvention is a programof theGlobalUnderstanding Project, a community-based effort started in 2001 by facultymembers, staff and students at Monmouth University, to encourage and promote activities and awareness concerning global issues. Through academic programs, field experiences, institutional relationships and exchanges, scholarship and research, the participants in the Global Understanding Project help to fulfill the university'smission of pursuing excellence and diversity in an increasing interdependent world.
