Citizens Campaign to host meetings in Long Branch

The Citizens Campaign is continuing its series of Citizen Leadership Forums for residents in the Long Branch area with the next meeting scheduled to be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at Brookdale Community College in Long Branch.

The forum is titled "Path to Political Party Power" and discussion at the meeting will focus on the power and influence behind the political parties and how easy it is to become a committee person in your hometown.

A meeting is also scheduled to be held on April 21 and is titled "Path to Appointed Power." The discussion will focus on appointed boards and commissions and why it is important to serve on such boards in order to represent the interests of your neighborhood. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Brookdale in Long Branch.

The purpose of the forums is to provide ordinary citizens with tools to effectively participate in a leadership role in their towns, from making a constructive proposal before their governing body to serving on appointed positions on volunteer boards and commissions.

For more information or to register for the forums, call Lauren Skowronski at (732) 548-9798, ext. 6.
