Police make arrest in deliveryman robbery

OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Police have arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery of a pizza deliveryman at an apartment complex Jan. 30.

Daniel Z. Green, 18, of Ocean Township, was charged by police with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon.

An order was placed for a pizza to be delivered to an apartment unit at the TwinbrookApartment Complex.When the 33-year-old deliveryman arrived at the residence, the occupant informed him that no order had been placed.

When the deliveryman exited the apartment building, he was approached by a masked individual and ordered at gunpoint to turn over his money.

Green is currently serving time in Monmouth County jail for another robbery on Feb. 2 at the same apartment complex, according to reports.

A joint investigation was conducted by the Ocean Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office into the Jan. 30 robbery.

The investigation led police to discover a pellet gun, a ski mask and assorted articles of clothing, which are believed to have been used in both robberies, according to reports.

As a result of the investigation, Green was additionally charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the Feb. 2 robbery, according to reports.
