Monmouth to host junior science event April 3, 4

Monmouth University, West Long Branch, will host the 46th annual Monmouth Junior Science SymposiumApril 3 and 4 at Pollak Theatre. The symposium is co-sponsored by Fort Monmouth and NavalWeapons Station Earle, Colts Neck.

The goal is to promote research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level, and recognize students for outstanding achievement.

Held at both Monmouth University and Fort Monmouth, the event features original student research paper presentations, research poster presentations, and lectures by guest speakers. More than $340,000 in scholarships and cash awards are presented annually to regional and national symposium winners.

Local students giving presentations are Jay Feldman, Jeffrey Hart, Franz Sauer and Andrew Shum, all High Technology High School, Lincroft section of Middletown; andAshutosh Singhal,HolmdelHigh School. A student poster presentation will be given by local student Jason Zukus, High Technology High School.
