Raid closes massage parlor

OCEAN TOWNSHIP- Two NewYork women are facing prostitution charges after police raided a township massage parlor on Route 35.

An investigation by theOcean Township PoliceDepartment SpecialAssignmentUnit led to a police raid of the My Day Spa massage parlor at approximately 9:15 p.m. Feb. 21, according to police reports.

Police arrested and charged Yang Shumsker, 62, of JacksonHeights,N.Y., and Jing Hua Jin, 51, of Flushing, N.Y., with promoting prostitution and maintaining a nuisance, according to police reports.

The two women were also issued township ordinance summonses for failure to register as a massage practitioner and maintaining sleeping quarters in amassage establishment, according to police reports.

Police additionally seized $1,873 in proceeds from the establishment, according to reports, which state that further violations are pending regarding the establishment's business license.

Hua Jin was committed to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, on a no-bail detainer fromU.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to reports.

Shumsker was released on a complaint-summons, according to police.
