FCS launches money management program

Family & Children's Service (FCS), Long Branch, has announced the creation of a new community based program, the AARP money management program (AARPMMP).

The program is a free bill-paying service in partnership with the AARP designed to help elderly residents by recruiting and trainingAARP volunteers to provide assistance to low-income people unable to make responsible decisions about financial affairs but who may be physically or mentally or otherwise impaired. The bill payer volunteer helps establish a budget; opens, organizes and sends mail; writes checks (all checks are signed by the client); and balances the client's checkbook. Services are provided at the person's home. For more information, call Andrew at (732) 222-9111.
