Clarke G. Carney

Mr. Carney, 66, of Gambier, Ohio, died Feb. 10, 2008, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. Born in Albany, N.Y., he was raised in Monmouth Beach. He was on the faculty at Kansas State University, an adjunct professor at Ohio State University, and director of the counseling center at Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio. He also taught psychology at The University of Newfoundland, and authored two textbooks. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Anelick Carney of Gambier; a son, Ian Carney; a daughter, Kaitlin Carney; a sister and brotherin law, Phylis and Harry Morrow; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Epworth UnitedMethodist Church, Gambier, Ohio.Arrangements were by Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home,Mount Vernon, Ohio.Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
