Passenger in car arrested following motor vehicle stop

OCEAN TOWNSHIP- A 47-year-old Long Branch resident is facing several drug charges following a motor vehicle stop in Loch Arbour.

On Feb. 6 at approximately 8:55 a.m., Ocean Township Patrolman Scott Valenti pulled over a vehicle on Edgemont Avenue, according to police reports.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Long Branch resident John DeLuca, began acting "suspiciously" during the motor vehicle stop, according to reports.

Upon further investigation by Valenti, Deluca was found to be in possession of methadone without a prescription, according to reports.

Deluca was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a prescription drug without a valid prescription, according to reports.

Deluca was transported to the Ocean Township Police Department, where he was later released on a complaint summons, according to reports.
