Pizza deliveryman robbed at gunpoint

OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a pizza deliveryman at gunpoint last week at the Twinbrook Apartment complex on Aldrin Road.

On Jan. 30 at approximately 11 p.m., a 33-year-old pizza deliveryman from Brick was delivering a food order to a residence in the Twinbrook Apartment complex.

When the deliveryman arrived at the address, he was told that no one from the residence placed the food order, according to police reports.

The deliveryman went back to his vehicle to confirm the order and was confronted by a man with a handgun who demanded money fromhim, according to police reports.

The victim dropped the food order and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled on foot, according to police.

The victim returned to the pizzeria on Wickapecko Drive and the owner of the pizzeria notified police of the alleged robbery.

Ocean Township officers and detectives investigated the area of the apartment complex with the assistance of a K-9 unit from the Marlboro Police Department but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect, according to reports.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic or blackmalewith a thin build and thick eyebrows, according to reports.

The suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing with a bandanna over his face. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call the Ocean Township Police Detective Bureau at (732) 531-1800.
