Seashore Day Camp to host 'Day of Fun' event

Seashore Day Camp & School is holding a free "Day of Fun" on Feb. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at its 345 Second Ave. and 404 Broadway campuses in Long Branch.

The event is being held to give local families a chance to sample the program and preview new activities slated for summer 2008 camp, including water skiing, sailing, skateboarding, surfing, tubing on the Navesink, snorkeling, water runway that makes it possible towalk onwater, four-way trampoline, 28-foot rock wall, and trips.

Wonka Bars will be handed out to attendees at the event Saturday and five of the chocolate bars will contain gold tickets for prizes and savings, including two freeweeks of camp when families register for a five- to eight-week session of camp. There also will be a sneak previewof the newTheaterCamp at Seashore. Children who register for the camp will learn acting, singing and dance techniques, and attend fourBroadway plays.

Sign ups for surf camps and sports camps at Seashore will start at the day of fun on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The day of fun is open to children ages 3 to 12. Children ages 3 to 5 should go to 345 Second Ave. location for the fun day event and children ages 6 to 12 should got to the 404 Broadway location. There is no obligation to enroll for day camp and parentsmust stay with their children at the day of fun.
