OCEAN TOWNSHIP - A township man is facing charges for possessing burglary tools after a police officer observed the accused acting suspiciously last week.

On Jan. 21 at approximately 3:21 a.m., Police Officer Thomas Thompson saw a man acting suspiciously in the area of Sunset Avenue, near a section of commercial businesses, according to police reports.

When theman saw the police officer, he entered the front door of a 24-hour Laundromat and then exited through a rear door, according to reports.

Thompson confronted the man, who was identified as James Freeman, 34, of Long Branch.

Upon further investigation, Thompson learned that Freeman had active warrants out for his arrest in Tinton Falls and Lakehurst.

Freeman was also found to be in possession of a lock-pick kit, which contained 15 assorted lock-picks and two vending machine lock-picks.

Freeman was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, according to police reports.

Freeman was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township, and bail was set at $2,500, according to reports.
