2 women suspected of stealing at mall

EATONTOWN - Borough police arrested two Lakewood women last week for shoplifting over $3,700 worth of merchandise from the Monmouth Mall on Route 35.

Police arrested Alice Ann Morgan and Liz Deleon, both 19, of Lakewood, on Jan. 23 at approximately 9 p.m. in the parking lot of the mall.

Both women were charged with organized retail theft, shoplifting and possession of stolen property, according to police reports.

Eatontown Patrolman John DiGiovanni and Detective Ryan Braswell responded to a report of a shoplifting taking place at the mall.

The officers confronted the two female suspects in the parking lot of the mall, and found the women to be in possession of stolen merchandise from Epic Design, Zumiez, Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle Outfitters, Charlotte Russe, Burlington Coat Factory and Hollister, police said.

The stolen merchandise was valued at $3,775, according to police reports.

The women were also allegedly found to be in possession of a shopping list with names, sizes and descriptions of property to steal and tools to remove theft-deterrent tags from the clothing, according to police reports.

Both suspects were transported to the Monmouth County jail in Freehold Township, and bail was set at $20,000 for each of the accused, according to police reports.
