George R. Holtje

Mr. Holtje, 74, of Hazlet, died Dec. 25, 2007, at home. He was born in New York City and lived in the Inwood section ofManhattan before moving to Hazlet 33 years ago. Mr. Holtje was a systems planner for New York Telephone, New York City, retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Air Force 735th Aircraft Conrol &Warning Squadron during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Holtje; a son, Staff Sgt. George R. Holtje, stationed in Hohenfeis, Germany; and a sister, Andrea O'Keefe of Monmouth Beach. Cremation was private. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
