Decide on a leader who will make a change Our political candidates need to change the way they portray themselves and their opponents. I believe most people do not care what happened five, 10 or 20 years ago. People change, circumstances change, and the world changes. If, as an employee, I were hiring someone whose résumé fit my needs, am I going to ask what mistakes they made as a teenager? That is what our candidates are doing. We the people need to hear what qualifications our candidates have to lead our country and be a world leader. We need to hear what they mean when they keep saying the word "change." How will they proceed to change our economy, education, environment, Social Security and the war in Iraq? Telling us they will change things is not the same as giving information on how they intend to accomplish the changes. The first thing our candidates should do, in my opinion, is put away the dirty laundry. It was washed and disposed of years ago. I want to hear in simple language what they will do to change and improve our lives in the 21st century - should I vote them into office? I fully agree we need change, but change can be good or bad depending upon who is implementing it. We have 10 months to decide on a leader who can make a positive change in our lives and the world.
