Park system's ceramics classes continue Jan. 10

The Monmouth County Park System has announced it still has openings in classes offered at its Creative Arts Center at Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.

Advanced wheel-thrown pottery for adults, advanced techniques session, will be held Thursdays, Jan. 10-Feb. 21, 7-10 p.m. The cost is $140 per person.

"Pottery: Open Workshop/Wheel- Throwing and Hand-Building" for adults will be held Thursdays, Jan. 10-Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, or Saturdays, Jan. 12- Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $105 for either class and includes all glazes and firing of items created in the studio.

Advanced pottery with alternative firings for adults will be held Fridays, Jan. 11-Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $140 per person and includes glazes, firing and 25 pounds of clay. Children's ceramics for children ages 6-18 will be offered Saturdays, Jan. 12-Feb. 23, 9:30- 11:30 a.m., at a cost of $77 per person. Students will decorate a pre-cast item.
