Lunch Break leaders move on to new challenges
For nearly 25 years, Lunch Break has provided "hot meals and more" to those struggling with poverty in Monmouth County. And for the past five years, Lunch Break's board of directors has been led by Little Silver resident Kay Vilardi and Dan Petrocelli of Lincroft.

These two outstanding volunteers recently completed their tenures on the Lunch Break board, having committed countless hours to expanding Lunch Break's reach within the Two River area.

Kay and Dan exhibited remarkable leadership at Lunch Break, especially in the areas of fund development and public awareness.

They worked extremely hard to raise critical funds each year so Lunch Break could expand its programs to include hot and bagged lunches, groceries, clothing, health screenings, legal services, referrals and a holiday Adopt-a-Family program.

On an ongoing basis, Kay and Dan reached out to families, businesses and foundations in our community and asked them to support Lunch Break.

In resounding numbers, the community responded with food, time and money on behalf of Lunch Break.

As a public relations consultant for Lunch Break, it was a joy for me to work with Kay and Dan. At this time, the three of us are moving on from Lunch Break to focus on other nonprofit projects. But I know we share a sense of pride and accomplishment in bringing Lunch Break forward to a critical juncture in its history.

I commend Kay and Dan for transforming vision into action at Lunch Break.
