James F. Osborne Sr.

Mr. Osborne, 83, of Brick, died Nov. 18, 2007, at his daughter's home in Brick. He was born in Jersey City and had lived in Middletown before moving to Brick three years ago to live with his daughter. Prior to retiring in 1979, Mr. Osborne was a time manager for Bendex Corp., Eatontown. He then was a security guard at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank, for 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church, Middletown, where he was also a former president and longtime member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown; and the Knights of Columbus, Bayshore Council, Middletown. Mr. Osborne was predeceased by his wife, Florence, in 2004; a daughter, Florence, in 1989; and a sister, Margaret Mary Arnold. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda Osborne Jr. of Westfield, William and Donna Osborne of Union Beach, and John and Janet Osborne of Mississippi; two daughters and sonsin law, Kathryn and Frederick Ebner of Brick, and Mary and Lou Marrero of Montville; a brother, Charles Osborne of Florida; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Catherine's Church, followed by entombment at St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Keyport. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
