Wallace Duryea Van Siclen

Mr. Van Siclen, 81, of Merritt Island, Fla., died Nov. 6, 2007, at home. Born in Douglaston, Long Island, N.Y., he had resided in East Orange and Fair Haven prior to relocating to Merritt Island. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his master's degree from Tulane University, New Orleans. He was a member of the Monmouth Boat Club, where his positions included race committee chairman and commodore. Mr. Van Siclen was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Van Siclen. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Crissy Van Siclen of Sea Bright, Katrinka and Marco Burenko of Merritt Island, Fla., and Jannetje and Kevin McManus of Fair Haven; and four grandsons. Arrangements were by Florida Memorial Funeral Home, Rockledge, Fla.
