Veterans Day Ceremony
Fort Monmouth marked its 90th anniversary the week of Nov. 5 through 8 with a weeklong celebration that culminated Nov. 8 with the 90th Anniversary Festival on Greely Field. The festival began with Fort Monmouth's annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. with the commandant of West Point, Brig. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr. as guest speaker. The ceremony took place at the World War II Memorial on Greely Field. The festival also included civilian and military displays including armored vehicles, artillery and helicopters; historical military re-enactors from the American Revolution to the present day; a variety of musical acts; kids' rides; skydiving demonstrations; a classic car show; and a fireworks display.
Clockwise from top: Jeff Gulley, 21, of the U.S. Military Academy Prepatory School, plays the bugle at the Nov. 8 Veterans Day ceremony at Fort Monmouth. Sgt. Maj. Timothius Robinson (l) and Lt. Col. Dutch Bertholf (r), both of the U.S. Marines 6th Motor Transportation Battalion based in Red Bank, observe the ceremony. Kevin Oloughlin, 22, of the U.S. Military Academy Prepatory School, stands at attention with fellow Firing Party members.
