Obituaries Phyllis M. Wapshare Barrett Mrs. Barrett, 86, of Middletown, died Oct. 17, 2007, at home. Born in Newark, she resided in Hillside, Union and Cranford, prior to relocating to Middletown 51 years ago. She was a member of Middletown Reformed Church, and The Ruth Circle at the church. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Richard Barrett in 2002. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlys and William H. Potter III of Middletown, and Dorothy and Donald A. Spankuch of Bixby, Okla., two sisters, Hazel Kelly of Little Silver, and Ginger Raimann of Seaside Park; a sister-in-law, Helen Grigonis of Belleville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Middletown Reformed Church. Burial was at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Barbara "Bobbie" Amy Ryder Pidel Mrs. Pidel, 82, of Little Silver, and Englewood, Fla., died Oct. 26, 2007, at St. Barnabas Hospice Unit, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Irvington, N.Y., she resided in Cortland Manor, N.Y., prior to relocating to Little Silver in 1967. She was a retired typist for the New York Central Railroad where she was employed five years. Several years ago she was also a professional singer in New York, and a former United Service Organization dancer. Her memberships included Little Silver Historical Society of which she was a former president, Little Silver Women's Club, and Monmouth Museum, Lincroft section of Middletown. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Ryder; and a sister, Evelyn Paulson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry; two sons, Lonnie of Malden, Mass., and Lowell of Clarksville, Md.; three daughters, Lauren Hancock of Point Pleasant, Leanne Cressman of Oceanside, Calif., and Lynne Pidel of New York City; a brother, David Ryder of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; a sister, Teddie Baldwin of Melbourne, Fla.; a half-sister, Patricia Breaux of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. "Butch" Pinto Jr. Mr. Pinto, 66, of Long Branch, died Oct. 27, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Neptune Township, he was raised in Freehold, and resided in Sea Bright, Oceanport, prior to relocating to Long Branch. He was a master mechanic, and owned and operated several auto body shops in Freehold before retirement. He is survived by his fiancée, Carolyn E. Paul of Long Branch; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and James Weaver of Freehold. Arrangements were by Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Nellie Stovall Mrs. Stovall, 92, of Freehold, died Oct. 20, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was known to everyone as "Aunt Sue." Born in Richmond, Va., she had resided in Red Bank before moving to Freehold in 1938. She was a domestic worker prior to retiring and had previously been employed by Marlboro State Hospital. She was a longtime member of New Beginnings Agape Christian Center in Freehold, formerly the Second Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board for more than 25 years. Mrs. Stovall was predeceased in 1979 by her husband, Alfonza Stovall, and in 1970 by a daughter, Lillie Mae Cooper. Surviving are an adopted daughter, Ella Stroud of Spring Lake; an uncle, Lester Robinson of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Kenneth Ronald Stroud Jr. of Lakewood, Kimberly L. Stroud of Freehold, and Daliah and Gregory Stroud, both of Spring Lake; and a niece and three nephews. Funeral services were held at New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Helen Messner Zisman Mrs. Zisman, 83, of Long Branch, died Oct. 23, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Roselle, she resided there, Elizabeth, and New York City, prior to relocating to Long Branch. She was a retired supervisor at the New Jersey Division of Unemployment, Trenton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Elks, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, New York City. She was predeceased by her husbands, George Zisman and Stanley Schwartz. She is survived by two cousins, Linda and Beverly Schwartzman. Burial was at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton.
