Red Banks Park & Recreation is co-hosting an 8 on 8 co-ed dodgeball league to begin Nov. 13. We will play 8 on 8 with a maximum of five males and three females to start the game. Games will be played on Tuesday nights at the Red Bank Middle School between 7:15-10 p.m. for approximately nine weeks. There is individual or team signup. The emphasis is on having fun, and all co-ed rules to be explained before the first game. The cost is $55 for Red Bank residents and $75 for nonresidents. The Fair Haven cross country program will hold a Youth Championship meet on Thursday Nov. 1. The preregistration fee is $3/athlete and registration at the meet meet is $5/athlete. Age divisions are 8 and under, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14, 15/16, and 17/18. The meets will be held at Fair Haven Fields with registration at 4:30 p.m. and races starting at 5 p.m. School, recreation, and club teams as well as unattached athletes are invited. All college students will receive free grandstand admission at a $10 value - to the Friday, Oct. 26, Breeders' Cup World Championships at Monmouth Park, it was announced today by Breeders' Cup Limited and the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority.

Those who show their student ID to get in free that Friday will also be eligible to win $1,000 in scholarship funds and a $1,000 gift certificate to shop at the Manhattan-based Theory clothing and accessories stores. Five winners will be drawn during the afternoon.

This is the first time in the 24-year history of the Breeders' Cup that the World Championships races will be run over two days. The Friday program at Monmouth, which begins at 12:30 p.m., will offer 10 races, including three new Breeders' Cup events at the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, and the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint.

The college ID promotion is good only for the Friday Breeders' Cup program at Monmouth Park.

The special four-day Breeders' Cup Week meeting at Monmouth concludes on Saturday, Oct. 27, with eight Breeders' Cup races. First post is 11 a.m.
