Baseball lecture slated at Brookdale Oct. 18

Brookdale Community College (BCC), Lincroft section of Middletown, will present the third annual Jacob W. Needle Lecture in History will be Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Warner student life center.

Featured lecturer will be Jerry Izenberg, former columnist and sports reporter for a statewide daily newspaper. He will present "In From the Cold: The Story of the Eight Hall of Famers From the Newark Eagle's Baseball Team of the Negro Leagues." The Eagles, the first professional team owned and operated by a woman, Effa Manley, won the Negro World Series.
