Helyn Capoano Chrobocinski

Mrs. Chrobocinski, 64, Long Branch, died Oct. 7, 2007, at home. She was an environmental activist with the Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Bayonne prior to relocating to Long Branch 25 years ago. She was predeceased by her father Michael Capoano; and a sister Dorothy Gallagher in 1983. She is survived by her husband, Richard Chrobocinski; her mother and stepfather, Theresa and William Flood of Long Branch; a sister, Theresa Newell of Bayonne; and four nephews. A memorial gathering was held at Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Frank A. Pennington

Mr. Pennington, 71, of Ocean, died Oct. 8, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Laguna Niguel, Calif., Brielle and Point Pleasant before relocating to Ocean. He was a retired project engineer for the Department of Defense at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. Prior to that, Mr. Pennington was employed at Day and Zimmerman Engineering, Philadelphia. He was also the former owner of Atlantic Sailing Yachts, Point Pleasant. He was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the Society of Professional Engineers. He was a former Boy Scout volunteer leader. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Arlene Ostrowski Pennington; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Jennifer Pennington of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and William Churney Jr. of Florida; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held at First Presbyterian Church at Tower Hill-Red Bank. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
