The Diney Goldsmith Center at the Wellness Community, Northern Jersey Shore, will host its first "Spokes for Hope" bike ride Saturday at Pier Village in Long Branch. All proceeds will benefit the Wellness Community, as well as the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Several bike courses will be offered including a 16-, 31- or 64-mile route with all rides starting and finishing at Pier Village. Entry fee is $25 and all participants will be given a T-shirt. Can you volunteer a few hours one day per week to help young adults during Family Resource Associates' Real Life Connections Classes on Wednesdays? Classes meet each Wednesday at the TECHConnection, 35 Haddon Ave., Shrewsbury. The first session runs 10 a.m. to noon; followed by a Life Skills lunch noon to 1 p.m.; and a second session 1 to 3 p.m. Volunteers are needed for full or halfdays. You do not have to be fluent in computers. Volunteers will assist individuals at the computer with spelling, sentence writing, following directions, and helping keep student focused and on task.
