Scouts recruit emergency team members

Search and Rescue Post 156 (SAR156) is looking to recruit area personnel from the ages of 14 and up who have an interest in training for an emergency services team and serving the local and county community. No experience is necessary.

SAR156 is a completely volunteer team serving Monmouth County as a venturing crew through the Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Members train through the post, earning official certifications on several courses including wilderness first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), land navigation, wilderness survival, camping, hiking, rappelling, leadership and team building. Certifications are earned from the American Red Cross and the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR).

An open house will be held Sept. 24 at 630 p.m. at the American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter, 1540 West Park Ave, Tinton Falls. For more information, call George Goldner at (732) 600 5048 or Leo Pratte at (732) 778 2387, or e-mail to info@sar156.org or visit www.sar156.org.
