Walk for Long Branch Day

The city of Long Branch, in collaboration with the Broadway Arts Center is sponsoring "Walk A Mile for Long Branch" as part of the annual Long Branch Day festivities. The event will be held Sept. 8 beginning at 10 a.m. in Jerry Morgan Park on Liberty Street. Proceeds will benefit the city's recreation and other youth programs.

Participants in the walk can pre-register by downloading the entry form from the Broadway Center Web site, www.broadwaycenter.net, or by calling the Long Branch office of Community and Economic Development at (732) 923-2043.

The walk will be held rain or shine; the entry fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years. Race-day registration begins at 9 a.m. in the park and the course will run through the neighborhoods of Long Branch. Prizes will be awarded and the event will also feature music and food.

Broadway Center is a mixed-use residential retail-arts/entertainment project, which received final site plan approval from the Long Branch Planning Board and will be developed on lower Broadway. For more information, call (732) 222-9275.
