Girl Scout registration now under way

Registration for the 2007-08 membership in Girl Scouts has begun. Girls age 5 and older can become a Girl Scout, and participate in program activities.

Activities include camping at Great Adventure and the Franklin Institute; "Spooktacular," a haunted costume and dance party, and trips to Niagara Falls and Boston, as well as archery, horse and boating programs. Scouts also earn patches, badges and try-its in areas such as camping and cooking to computers and car care.

Scouting is delivered in age and grade specific levels: Daisy Girl Scouts, age 5-6 kindergarten or grade one; Brownie Girl Scouts, ages 6-8 or grades one through three; Junior Girl Scouts, ages 8-11 or grades three through six; Teen Girl Scouts, ages 11-17 or grades six-12; and Adult Girl Scout Volunteers, age 18 and over.
