Sports Shorts The Atlantic Eagles, a U9 MOSA Peninsula club soccer team, will hold tryouts on Aug. 21, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the soccer fields behind Monmouth Park in Oceanport. A training class organized by the Central East Jersey Basketball Officials Organization will begin in September at East Brunswick High School. Anyone 18 years or older, who has an interest in becoming a trained basketball official for high school, middle school or recreational leagues can register for the class. The class begins on Sept. 18 and runs from 7-9 p.m. on most Tuesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 20. The organization is affiliated with the NJSIAA, which officiates basketball games within Middlesex County and some surrounding counties.
