Notes Around Town The Wave of Hope Foundation raised $26,000 during the annual "Wave of Hope" walk in June sponsored by the Long Branch Public School District. The walk takes place annually to raise money for research and education programs at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey Foundation, New Brunswick. A check presentation was held July 30. ***** The Long Branch Concordance Family Success Center (LBCFSC) will host a "Back to Basics" fair 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25 at Slocum Park, Slocum and Broadway. The family-friendly fair will feature children's activities, music, food, health screenings, information booths explaining family resources, and giveaways. The event will benefit Alyssa's Angels, a group supporting Monmouth County's disabled children and their families. The evening's charity raffle proceeds benefit the handicap-accessible playground Alyssa's Angels is building in West Long Branch. All guests will receive a personally autographed copy of Dot's book. Tickets are $65, which includes light fare, signed copy of the book, and giveaways from event sponsors.
