Nature times five

"Royal Flora" by Lisa Gebhard
Four perspectives on landscape painting and a group of photographs of flora intersect in a

luminous exhibit at the Frederick

Gallery in Allenhurst

"Observation Sites - Four New York City Landscape Painters" features paintings by Kathy Buist, Assunta Sera, Robert W. Pillsbury and Lisa Lebofsky, and photography by Linda Gebhard

The exhibit will run through Aug. 4 at Frederick Galleries, 111 Main St.

Buist is exhibiting some of her newest oil paintings, which play on the elemental values of sun, water and morning mist.

Working in oil, Sera works with

spatial elements, layering color side by side to lead the viewer down a path of constant reflection.

Pillsbury's current exhibit showcases his watercolors, in which his use of color and field are deeply rooted in those found in nature, as well as icons drawn from the landscape.

"Connectivity" by Assunta Sera
Lebofsky's latest work is a series of landscapes, oil on paper, inspired by stays throughout Tuscany, Italy.

Gebhard's luminous colors and textures are the main subject of her work. Her current photography work is macro photography, predominantly of flowers and plants.
