Memorial Day Services

Long Branch will hold Memorial Day Services Monday beginning at 9 a.m. at Firemen's Field on the corner of Woodgate and Overlook avenues.

At 9:45 a.m. there will be a laying of the wreath on West End Beach, followed by a service at 10:15 a.m. at Jerry Morgan Park.

The events will conclude with annual services and the announcement of essay contest winners at 11 a.m. at City Hall on Broadway. An open house will be held at VFW Post 2140 on Will Avenue following all of the services.

American Legion Post 325 Eatontown will hold Memorial Day services Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Route 35. Guest speaker is Col. David M. Moore, military deputy director, Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center, Fort Monmouth.

Several organizations will be presenting wreaths and the Memorial School band will perform musical selections. For more information, call (732) 222-7491.

The township of Ocean will hold a Memorial Day Service Monday at 11 a.m. at Town Hall. A parade starting at Town Hall will follow the service at 12:30 p.m., head north on Monmouth Road and end at the Oakhurst Firemen's Field.
