Earth Day begins with you!

Students at Long Branch Middle School began a garden of the future on Earth Day.
Earth Day at the Long Branch Middle School was celebrated April 20. The eighth-grade students in the Science and Technology Academy participated in an Earth Day themed assignment, Planting for Our Future.

They planted flowers in the new school courtyard. The flowers of the future will help cleanse the air and fight global warming. During science and social studies, students viewed a short video about the start of Earth Day, which was celebrated in 1970, and then went outside to begin their garden of the future.

On this Earth Day, students at the middle school watched the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" and were inspired to begin an Earth Day movement at the school.
