Temple Beth El hosts Shabbat celebration On Friday, May 4, Temple Beth El in Oakhurst will host Shabbat Across America. Temple Beth El is providing the local community the opportunity to celebrate with half a million people from congregations across America who will be gathering to observe this day of rest. The welcome reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by services given by Rabbi Gordon Yaffe at 5:45 p.m. and kosher Shabbat dinner and the Shabbat program at 7 p.m. This event is open to the community. Tickets are $16 for anyone 13 years of age and older; $6 for ages 6 to 12; and free for children under 5.
