The city of Long Branch will hold its annual citywide yard sale the weekend of May 19 and 20. Residents participating in the event who wants their addresses published in the May 10 issue of the Atlanticville can e-mail the addresses to aville@gmnews.com.

The city of Long Branch is providing a seven-passenger van for transportation to a teen pregnancy prevention workshop, "Skill Building and Role Playing," to be held at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan May 10. For more information, call Emma Caban at (732) 571- 1670.

The Greater New York Chapter of The ALS Association will host its annual "Walk to D'Feet ALS" May 20 at Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch.

Check-in for the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will be held at 10:45 a.m. The three-mile walk is open to the public and all funds raised will be donated to the ALS Association, an organization dedicated to finding the cause and cure of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The 50th annual Navarumsunk Auxiliary Luncheon Golden Jubilee will take place at Branches in West Long Branch May 9. The event will benefit the programs and services of Family & Children's Service (FCS). The second annual "By the Beautiful Sea: A Luncheon, Fashion and Shopping Event" will be held May 11 at Pier Village in Long Branch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the New Jersey Repertory Company.

Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the sale of raffle tickets at McLoone's Pier House in Pier Village. Auction packages will be on display in village stores throughout the morning. A luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Pier House and will include a fashion show spotlighting summer fashions available at Pier Village stores, raffles, music and more. At 2:30 p.m., attendees will be invited to sample delectable desserts served at participating stores and restaurants.

The Long Branch Concordance (LBC) raised over $15,000 at its spring fundraising event, "A Taste of Spring," held at Cask 591 on Broadway April 12. At the event, the 2007 LBC Service Award was presented to Colleen Meyer, community resource development manager for Monmouth Cares.

The Long Branch Concordance has moved its offices to a new location at 279 Broadway on the third floor. For more information, call (732) 571-1670.

The Greater Township of Ocean Democratic Club (serving Ocean, Allenhurst, Interlaken and Loch Arbour) will present a "Forum of the Democratic Candidates" at 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the West Park Recreation Complex, 615 West Park Ave., Oakhurst (side entrance).

The candidates on the June 5 primary ballot are: John Villapiano for state senator, 11th District; John Pirnat and John Napolitani for state Assembly, 11th District; Judge John D'Amico; Steve Schueler, mayor of Bradley Beach, for Monmouth County freeholder; Jack Hill, chief of police of Bradley Beach, for Monmouth County sheriff; and Amod Chaudhary for Monmouth County clerk.
