BCC Sports Camps accepting registration More than 35 Summer Adventure and Jersey Blues sports camps await kids at Brookdale Community College's suburban 220-acre Lincroft campus, the Western Monmouth Campus in Freehold, the Wall Higher Education Center and Sandy Hook. Registration is now being accepted for one- and two-week programs scheduled for June 25 through Aug. 17. State-certified teachers and college-level faculty teach the Summer Adventure camps. The Jersey Sports camps' staff is selected from the ranks of collegiate, high school and middle school coaches and physical education teachers. Local collegiate athletes assist the senior counselors. The softball offerings are run by Brookdale Jersey Blues coach Bo Scannapieco, now entering his 21st season coaching the Jersey Blues softball team. His 2006 Brookdale team finished with a 39-15 record. They were Region XIX Champions for the 12th consecutive year and finished second in the nation last season. The Brookdale softball team was the National Champion for two of the past five years. Golf camps are run by Doug Welsh, now entering his 17th season coaching the Jersey Blues golf team. In the 2006 season, his squad earned a 46-1 record, were the Garden State Athletic Conference Champions and Region XIX Champions, and competed in the National Tournament.
